Derivis: inherit a theme, keep your identity
A derived theme can have its own configuration and overrides while inheriting its parent templates and assets. Derivis creates that minimal scaffold from an installed compatible parent, leaving the parent untouched.
In practice
Choose a derived theme when a site needs maintained theme overrides while retaining its parent's templates and assets. For text edits or section reordering, stay in Pages or Page Composer. Derivis creates a minimal scaffold; it does not compose pages or automatically maintain your overrides through parent updates.
Next, select an installed compatible parent, enter an unused technical name and review the planned operations before confirming creation. The parent remains untouched and existing targets are protected. On Done, open the generated theme in Themes and review its configuration. Activation is a separate manual decision; creating a child does not activate it. Modularis and Thematis are not required.
